Why Should You be a
WYLD Gardener?
What We Stand For
WYLD stands for Wyoming Landscape Diversification.
Landscape diversification is the practice of increasing the variety of plants, habitats, and structural elements within a landscape to support ecological health and resilience.
Encouraging a biodiverse landscape supports natural ecosystems by encouraging complexity and variety. This supports a broader range of wildlife, improves soil and water health, and increases the landscape’s ability to recover from disturbances like drought, pests, or climate change.
The WYLD Gardening Initiative advocates gardening practices that promote landscape diversification and support native biodiversity. Supporting native biodiversity in your garden isn't just good practice, it's essential for conserving our natural heritage and ensuring the long-term health of our landscapes.
